On Microsoft Word when I highlight words and then press the backspace button it does not erase it anymore?

It still backspaces only not more than a single space at a time anymore.
Old Wolf we have been right. we had only figured out so we came on her to undo a subject though given we already answered and we were right, we am starting to give we most appropriate answer and not undo a question.

    maybe press delete instead of backspace

    First i would check in Wordpad or Notepad. See if it shows the same symptoms there. If it works fine in Wordpad and Notepad, i would uninstall and reinstall office.

    In tools pull down menu select options. On the Edit tab check the box that says “Typing replaces selection”
